Porthleven Arts is a Community Interest Company supporting artists, innovators and creatives. By weaving creativity into the fabric of our community, they encourage everyone to get involved, increasing inclusive cultural opportunities for people in Cornwall.
THE PROJECT
Running successful crowdfunders to help fund art exhibitions. Organising and promoting two successful arts festivals. Making and binding connections within our creative community.
As a director of the Porthleven Arts Community for two years I did all this and more, turning my skills to help the local community of artists in Porthleven with initiatives including Meet the Maker, which opened up local artist studios to the public for a week in October and an annual Mermaid Day which brings visitors to Porthleven from across Cornwall and beyond.
Everything was carried out with minimal budgets, steering smarter and encouraging local collaboration.
