THE CLIENT
Amélies is a family-run restaurant in Porthleven, Cornwall. As well as serving fabulous seafood and pizzas and other dishes from their wood-fired oven, they are also a licensed wedding venue and a popular spot for live music.
THE PROJECT
Amélies wanted to improve the profile of the business locally and nationally, as well as analysing and improving what they were saying to customers – and how it was being said.
She also wanted someone to provide ongoing management of the restaurant’s website and social media channels and act as a pop-up PR department, to advertise events and maximize PR opportunities.
Sharing stories
I began by looking at what made Amélies unique – what customers experiences were like and from that I revamped the website, presenting information and providing an upbeat and friendly tone to match the relaxed but lively atmosphere of the restaurant.
Suzie’s enthusiasm and tenacity made publicising the launch of our revamped restaurant and new menu to local media and national food writers a breeze. Her writing is of a very high standard and using email and social media she is able to connect with journalists and customers near and far to make them aware of Amélies and our latest news. I’d definitely recommend her services to anyone looking to publicise their business.

I’ve engaged with media outlets and have achieved positive coverage in publications ranging from the West Briton, Good Cornwall Guide and Visit Cornwall to Conde Naste Traveller, the Daily Mail and Coast magazine.
In 2013 Amélies was featured on Alex Polizzi: Chefs on Trial on BBC2.
Ongoing marketing support
I provide rolling content for social media channels, have set up an Instagram account and share relevant stories and images via Facebook, Twitter and e-newsletter .
I oversee marketing projects from photo shoots to online listings and have managed print and advertising projects, responded to Trip Advisor reviews and developed campaigns to drive sales.
